January blues…

Honestly, not as much running as I would really prefer to be doing, but I am thankful that I have the ability to run, and the time to enjoy it when I do (again, THANK YOU to Dr. Bertagnoli!!!)

As is typical for January in Ohio, I am most certainly not getting any riding in. Hopefully I will manage to get at least 10k miles again this year, but time will most certainly tell.

(title to be determined)…

Not that it really matters all that much, but it appears that the weather in Ohio may have finally turned the corner and become significantly colder. As is (unfortunately) usual for me, I parked the bike way too soon, and haven’t really been riding all that much the last couple of months (…makes me wonder if I will ever learn!). No biggie, I guess, as I have substituted one expensive hobby for another ;)

1 – My apologies, but this post has absolutely nothing to do with basketball (which makes sense, as I don’t typically watch any sports other than motorcycle racing). It appears that I have currently lost the ability to come up with witty titles that relate directly to running.

Drei Jahren

11.14.09

Hard to believe it, but it looks like I really have made it three years since my “adventures in back surgery” (does it make me a nerd that I think ofAdventures in Babysitting when I say that??? Or does it simply make me an uber-nerd because I actually linked to it??).

Anyway…Definitely none the worse for wear. In fact, I can’t imagine not having the surgery, and I don’t think that I could be happier with the results.

Hindsight being 20/20, I can easily wonder why I didn’t commit to the surgery years earlier, but last time I checked, I didn’t have access to a time machine (hmmm… my uber-nerd-ness is jumping back out and putting images of DeLoreans into my head).

Anyway #2…. Clearly I am hoping that my upgraded back continues to function as best as possible for at least the next 40 years, but I will absolutely take what I can get, and be extremely happy with the life I have in the here and now.

Nothing too earth-shattering, but definitely better than not running at all.
